False teacher Andy Stanley is actually promoting an old second century heresy known as Marcionism, which is why he has no faith in the authority of the Bible Pastor Andy Stanley is having revival in his ministry, it is growing by leaps and bounds, and he speaks to a full house every time the doors are open. He has ten satellite ‘campus locations’ numbering about 200,000 people every Sunday. Only one problem. Andy Stanley is not weighed down by that cumbersome, old Book known as the Bible, King James or otherwise, and that is striking a chord in people who want a ‘form of godliness’ just without so much power. Swelling words are in great demand here at the end of the Church Age. So just who are all these people flocking to Andy Stanley’s church? People who share his low view of the Bible, and aren’t interesting in being talked out of it.
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:5 (KJB)
“In a culture that had high regard for the Bible, the traditional approach held its own. Those days are over. They’ve been over for a long time.” Andy Stanley 2 Opinions 13:13
He doesn’t know it yet, but today is a big day for Andy Stanley for another reason. Today’s the day we add him to our False Teachers archive here at NTEB, and have every expectation that he, sadly, will live up to the confidence we have in him to continue teaching heresy and attempting to destroy your faith the Bible. So with that, let’s take a quick peek into what has qualified Andy Stanley for admission as a false teacher, it will be most enlightening.

If Scripture was not important or useful for instruction why did Jesus himself quote it?
I saw him say gay Christians have more faith than the rest of us
This sounds somewhat like parts of Scientology.
I hope they aren’t as aggressive as Scientology can be in wanting to dictate and control the lives (and finances) of their followers.
“The premise of Marcionism is that many of the teachings of Christ are incompatible with the actions of the God of the Old Testament. Focusing on the Pauline traditions of the Gospel, Marcion felt that all other conceptions of the Gospel, and especially any association with the Old Testament religion, was opposed to, and a backsliding from, the truth. He further regarded the arguments of Paul regarding law and gospel, wrath and grace, works and faith, flesh and spirit, sin and righteousness, death and life, as the essence of religious truth. He ascribed these aspects and characteristics as two principles, the righteous and wrathful God of the Old Testament, who is at the same time identical with the creator of the world, and a second God of the Gospel who is only love and mercy.”[11]

Sounds loopy on its face, to me.
There is a big push going on to “cancel Paul” as well to try and separate his teachings from the “authentic 4 gospels!
Actually, I think the big push is anti paul...not Marcionism.
I find Paul quite compatible with the 4 gospels. Paul’s preachings show how Christ was always the object of the Old Testament and why and how! It was thru Christ that the gentiles became part of the heritage of Abraham by spiritual adoption. Oh no, the enemies of God want Paul out of the way to foist upon the world a powerless civil religion!
The path is wide but the gate is narrow.
Marcion re-wrote Luke’s Gospel and Paul’s letters to exclude any references to either the O.T. or to the Man God. Marcion was an ascetic who believed that the material world is inherently evil, and he blamed the O.T. God for it. Christ, he said, came to free man from that O.T. God. Oh, and Christ wasn’t born, he took on the appearance of a man as an adult. And, of course, he didn’t suffer or die on the Cross.
He cherry-picked Paul to deny O.T. prophecy and to demand moral purity and celibacy of his followers, which historian James Papandrea suggests was why Marcianism wasn’t passed on to another generation. Additionally, Marcion also believed in reincarnation and not resurrection.
Polycarp called Marcian “the firstborn of Satan,” lol. Most of what we know of Marcian comes from Tertullian’s “Against Marcion,” which you can find here: http://ntslibrary.com/PDF%20Books/TERTULLIAN%20Five%20Books%20Against%20Marcion.pdf
Marcion and the Gnostics were “docetics” (Greek for “to seem, apparition, phantom”) who did not believe in Jesus’ humanity. Like this dude in the article here, they kinda missed some rather important points... starting with John chapter 1.
Nahhhhhh, can't be. He's one a pastor of a "nondenominational evangelical Christian church" Just last month we had some bogus "study" on FR that concluded all the "Evangelical, nondenominational" churches are soooooo much more "biblical" than all other groups of Christians: Nondenominational pastors found to hold more Biblical views than pastors of other denominations: survey
You mean to tell me a pastor of some generic "catch all" brand of Christianity that has NO core doctrines and lets their members believe ANYTHING the want as long as they CLAIM to "follow Jesus" ISN'T more "biblical"???
I'm shocked, I tell ya, shocked!
(FYI, I go to an "unbiblical" Catholic church where our pastor flat out says homosexuality is contrary to God's order. I bet I wouldn't hear that sort of thing in Pastor's Andy's "biblical" church!)

I have relatives who think “Preacher” Stanley is the most insightful pastor they have ever listened preach.
When you point out to them that he never, during his entire sermon, quoted a verse from the Bible, they will respond with such excuses that is hard to believe. Such as: “He is going by the ‘Sunday’s lesson provided to him by the Association’ and all Baptists are hearing the same thing this morning. Isn’t it inspiring?” Or, “he wouldn’t want to offend visitors to the Church”.
Those canned sermons are based upon the words and phrases such as “Believe”, “Do unto others”, be “inclusive and accept those who are different”, or “welcome the sinner into our church and do not rebuke them”.
All of those sermons are against Biblical teaching. Pastors such as Stanley give Christianity a bad name.
Ah gosh. He leads the mega church of the mall
When someone is willing to spend time in a hole in Rome for his faith I tend to pay attention
God called Paul. I figure that gives him an edge
One does one have to do with another? Absolutely nothing. So why say this?

I'd be willing to bet this guy is pretty typical, rather than an exception to the rule.
"LGBTQIA" cheerleader Carrie Underwood is a proud, active member of a "nondenominational" church, too.
Sure, you can find plenty of self-proclaimed Catholics that cheer on the homo stuff (Biden, Pelosi, Lady Gaga, etc.), but we all know they are "Catholic" in name only and go to church maybe 3 times a year, tops.
what the heck is the “I A” at the end, now? And what about “n” are they excluding all “N”s?
And for that matter doesn’t the G already cover the L and Q?
Hard to believe he’s Charles Stanley’s son
