His offense, as in, the root cause of the seminary’s/diocese’s decision to refuse to ordain this man?
He was ordered in February, 2022 to cease kneeling when receiving the Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
He did not so cease.
On April 1st, the diocesan ordinary told him: Finish your classes this semester and then, get out. A handful of reasons were given for this final decision, obviously pretextual.
A few days later, now assisting as a layperson at a diocesan chrism mass offered by none other than the same local ordinary noted above, this same ex-seminarian approached the altar and received Holy Communion from the hands of that local ordinary.
Did did this brave and determined young Catholic man kneel and present the posture of receiving on the tongue?
Yes he did.
Did the same local ordinary who just kicked this young man out of the seminary respond to this reverent kneeling posture by appropriately distributing Holy Communion to this young man on his tongue?
Yes he did.
Is this not an absolute injustice?
Five years of excellent seminary work thrown down the drain because an authentically faithful Catholic has the temerity to remain devout while in the process of becoming a priest.
Kneeling for government officials monitoring the faithful in the pews is still permitted.
Preach it, ASF.
We’ve got our priorities backwards.
