Eliminating fossil fuels without dependable alternatives guarantees mass starvation and chaos. But don't confuse these people with the facts when they have an agenda far more important than intelligent policy and humanity's survival.

I maintain that the white smoke emerging from the chimney that day was from the cardinals partaking in weed far too strong for their old keisters to handle.

Maybe it's because I only see posts here about what this friggin guy says from time to time, but, being the pope, I don't recall ever seeing or hearing him speak anything resembling religion other than sucking up to Muslims. What is the pipes purpose in reality supposed to be??

Banning fossil fuels is idiocy, but it doesn’t violate God’s law. Mandating Sunday observance over the 7th-day-Sabbath, does. Francis talks about Sunday observance in section 237 of Laudauto si’ (below). The Catholic Church, through world powers, would like nothing better than to force everyone to keep “their” day. They call it their “mark of authority” in their claim to have changed God’s law, which no one can, other than God Himself. Breaking the 7th-day-Sabbath is LAWLESSNESS, no matter who tries to convince you otherwise. God’s seal/mark of authority is His 7th-day-Sabbath. And by the way, Frankie, it isn’t Jewish, and it certainly isn’t just about resting. It’s about WORSHIP and AUTHORITY under our Creator. And, that is exactly what the Mark of the Beast issue will be all about. Make the wrong decision and there’s no coming back from it. No second chances. It’s God’s way or nothing. The fossil fuel issue is just smoke and mirrors.

Revelation 14: 6Then I saw another angel flying overhead, with the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people. 7And he said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. WORSHIP THE ONE WHO MADE THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA AND THE SPRINGS OF WATERS.”

8Then a second angel followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who has made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality.”

9And a third angel followed them, calling out in a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10he too will drink the wine of God’s anger, poured undiluted into the cup of His wrath. And he will be tormented in fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11And the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever. Day and night there is no rest for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

12Here is a call for the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Matthew 5: 19So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 7: 21Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of LAWLESSNESS!’

Eccl 12: 13When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man. 14For God will bring every deed into judgment, along with every hidden thing, whether good or evil.

Laudato si’: Section 237 (p.172). On Sunday, our participation in the Eucharist has special importance. Sunday, like the Jewish Sabbath, is meant to be a day which heals our relationships with God, with ourselves, with others and with the world. Sunday is the day of the Resurrection, the “first day” of the new creation, whose first fruits are the Lord’s risen humanity, the pledge of the final transfiguration of all created reality. It also proclaims “man’s eternal rest in God”. In this way, Christian spirituality incorporates the value of relaxation and festivity. We tend to demean contemplative rest as something unproductive and unnecessary, but this is to do away with the very thing which is most important about work: its meaning. We are called to include in our work a dimension of receptivity and gratuity, which is quite different from mere inactivity. Rather, it is another way of working, which forms part of our very essence. It protects human action from becoming empty activism; it also prevents that unfettered greed and sense of isolation which make us seek personal gain to the detriment of all else. The law of weekly rest forbade work on the seventh day, “so that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your maidservant, and the stranger, may be refreshed” (Ex 23:12). Rest opens our eyes to the larger picture and gives us renewed sensitivity to the rights of others. And so the day of rest, centered on the Eucharist, sheds it light on the whole week, and motivates us to greater concern for nature and the poor.
