Dealing with heretics

Most of what is called Christianity today in America is very, very weak, causing the apostasy, which drives any nation. No one wants to deal with it and, when you do, you are mocked, called names, etc.

Why? Well, when people cannot defend their position from God's Word, they are left to personally attack you, which is what they did to those in Scripture. The difference is that then soon here, the attacks were bodily, to the point of death by crucifixion, upside down in Peter's case, in Jerusalem.

Not a single person in Scripture dealt with heresy nicely, nor instructed anyone else to. We must always, always say, "What did the people in Scripture do? What did Jesus and the apostles do? And follow likewise. Let the chips fall where they may. In their case, it was not chips, it was their bodies. They were hated vehemently and pressed on, fearlessly.

In my warriors group this week, the pastor said:

1) We need to know the message

2) We need to be passionate

3) We need to be bold

4) We need to be persistent.

I told him he just described the Communist Party, Homersexual activists, liberals, Racism activists. etc.

I suggest be firm in belief with Scripture, but if possible be nice when being firm. If all we do is mock the non-Bible believers (admittedly I'm guilty of doing) it increases the odds that they put up red-alert shields and quit listening to us -- perhaps more firmly believe their own misguided beliefs by arguing back to us.

But if we're able to say things like: "Here's what the Bible says about it, why I and many others believe it, and why nobody will be able to convince me otherwise...", we have a better chance, if still small, of making progress for God's Kingdom in an insane world bent towards hedonism.

Everyone thinks that they are right. The more zealously they believe it, the more anger they have for your disagreement.

Every strong Christing leader in the Bible and historically had those 4 points, Including Jesus.

What is the difference between us and them?

Credited to Emo Phillips:

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, “Don’t do it!” He said, “Nobody loves me.” I said, “God loves you. Do you believe in God?”

He said, “Yes.”

I said, “Are you a Christian or a Jew?”
He said, “A Christian.”

I said, “Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?”
He said, “Protestant.”

I said, “Me, too! What franchise?”
He said, “Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?”
He said, “Northern Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?”
He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?”

He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region.”

I said, “Me, too!” Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?”

He said, “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912.”

I said, “Die, heretic!” And I pushed him over.

Interesting, I’ve seen the opposite. It seems as if the more tenuous people are in their position the more anger they have with disagreement. It’s not round earthers or surgeons who get spun up by disagreement, but flat earthers and crystal healers.

God is done with America and will allow America to suffer it’s own folly and final destruction which is right around the corner as her people are for the most part become evil and lost sinners.

It's been my experience to hear a lot less arguing among fellow Protestants regarding traditional denominational differences over the past couple of decades.

For example, I lean a bit Arminian while Baptists lean Calvinist. But it's been a long time since I heard a Baptist make Calvinism the main point in a sermon, and even longer since I heard a Baptism use Calvinism as a reason to not bother with witnessing. About the only time I hear it is in response to a question about it. So as long as they don't try to tell their fellow Christians to quit witnessesing or to quit asking for forgiveness and the Spirit to help with repentance (because of the belief of once-saved-always-saved), then the difference between Calvinism and Arminianism is only hypothetical anyway and not worth arguing about. I have a friend who's Baptist and he and I have had a couple of friendly debates about it with each of us pointing to Bible verses ... and with each of us admitting to the other that the Bible verses for each of our positions are a bit vague on that particular matter and probably not worth drawing a line in the sand over.

But that's different with unfortunately many "mainline" churches adopting as the main book the Gospel According to Hedonist Dims. Discussions between members of those churches and others can be quite animated. And from what I hear in the Methodist churches that recently voted to break away from the hedonist United Methodist Conference, those discussions among fellow Methodists before the votes were often heated.

How much studying of the Bible do people do on average?

How much studying do they do while using a translation program or Concordance?

How much studying of the Old Testament?

How much studying the New Testament?

It doesn’t count if you are listening to others tell stories, or just read from the Bible. Do the work, find out what The Book actually says, and what it means to convey.

Spot on. Most don’t really know what the Bible says and how to refute arguments against it. They want to get bogged down in whose translation is correct or whose denomination is the right one. And it’s okay to look at outside sources like the early church fathers (first three centuries)...

I think the root cause of America’s Spiritual decline is a departure from the Word of God in favor of heretic megapastors like Charles Stanley, Rick Warren, and others. Stanley’s false teaching of “once saved always saved” have “turned the Grace of God into lasciviousness”. Warren’s “Chrislam message” and “prophesy is a distraction” have taken an entire generation away from the Word of God and watching and praying…

Amen. Exactly what Paul warned of in these last days of the Church Age dispensation.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

This is what people do daily in America. They do not READ the Word, they READ INTO it, according to what others tell them it means, says.

Which is irrelevant completely. What one THINKS is meaningless.
Everyone can have their own ideas. No one can have their own truth, only God’s truth. Sufficient for all.
We should not allow people to destroy other people’s faith, deceive them freely, help them destroy marriages, families, let them help the sheeple to a forever separated future eternity in hell by simply ignoring the heretics, which is basically worse than nothing-it is destructive.

After we expose, warn, admonish, reprove, exhort, etc. THEN we move on.

So, you’re “Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879”?

You should’ve jumped with him.

They put toilet paper in the stalls to roll under rather than over, which is the only correct way, as the Authorized Version makes very clear to anyone with eyes to see.
