The institutional Catholic Church has gone off the rails. But the Catholic Church, founded by Jesus Christ, is indefectible, meaning it will last until the end of time.

Fr. Hardon’s Catechism also comes to mind, and also Ludwig Ott’s “Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma”.

These would be good foundational items for Catholics at any time ...

... as for synodality, a statement made about the U.S. Constitution is analogous.

It’s regularly cited that “All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” Marbury vs. Madison, 5 US (2 Cranch) 137, 174, 176, (1803)

Similarly, anything devised newly that is repugnant to the Gospel is similarly null and void. Hold true to the Truth and don’t worry.
