Gene Kim teaches readers of the Bible how to better interpret and divide the Word of Truth.
In order to get a better understanding of the Bible, he instructs the reader to understand each Scripture by asking, who is the author? Who is he speaking to? What time period is the author addressing? Does the Scripture have double application?
I have seen his videos.
First time I’ve ever heard of him.
There are very few that teach this.
When I came to the Lord nearly 40 years ago I was fortunate enough to be taught these principles from the beginning.
One of the best things I was taught from the start is that the Apostle Paul was chosen by God to be the Apostle unto the Gentiles. And revealed the Grace message to the church.
In fact, Paul wrote the following:
Galatians 1:8-9
King James Version
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Speaking of Paul, he wrote this to the Gentile Church.
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God’s deep secrets. No one can know what anyone else is really thinking except that person alone, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world’s spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t Christians can’t understand these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means (1 Corinthians 2:9-14 NLT).
You cannot “program” or “process” your way to bible understanding. Only one led by the Spirit of God can enlighten you. A Systematic Theology is a dead theology. The disciples and early church had no seminaries. They didn’t have the bible as Canon yet. What they had was the Spirit of God helping them. If we don’t, it’s because we have not prepared a place in our heart to accept God. God is not willing any should perish, therefore the fault is in man, not God if we reject (or downplay) the truth once and for all delivered to the Saints.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable. remove the wicked from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness PS 25:2-5
I have only seen Gene Kim’s videos, for about a year or so. I also like Amir Tsarfati. I met him at SM Lanang, in 2018.
2 Timothy 2:14-16

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Take Matthew 24 for instance. How can this be interpreted unless we decipher who is the author, who is the audience, and what is the time period involved?
Why are we told to study and rightly divide the Word of Truth?
yes, Amir is also very insightful. I’ve never heard of him until RWC posted one of his videos. Now I look forward to his videos bringing the audience into understanding of current events in the ME.
Why did Paul and Peter have such a disagreement regarding Law and Grace? Circumcision was for the Jews, not for the Gentiles.
So how does Paul address this but to tell Peter that the Law was given to the Jews.
Again, we must examine the Scriptures and apply understanding as to who the author is, who the audience is, and the time period. (The church age)
the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,
16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
How did Philip respond to the eunuch when eunuch asked Philip
How can I understand the Scriptures except some man should guide me?
There are guidelines for understanding and that is what the author of the video instructs.
Acts 8:27-35

I saw Amir cruising down the aisle, surrounded by Filipina women. I don’t think he was necessarily annoyed by that, but I called his name. I didn’t think he would notice me, but he looked up, and the women are generally fascinated by Americans anyway, so they all just kind of melted away, and I was able to have a nice conversation with him.

I thought the video was excellent. It’s the first video I ever seen like this and he teaches the same method I was taught in a home fellowship Bible study 40 years ago.

Hard to believe a message this good can come out of a place like San fransisco.

I wish more people would grab hold of this message on this video. It would create a whole lot more Christianity and a whole lot less religion.
The first thing I was taught when I became Born Again is not to receive anything unless it can be supported by Scripture and then rightly divided.
People today, in these last days of the Church Age Dispensation want to have their ears tickled by Apostates rather then to hear the True Word of God.
Most “pastors” would rather sell a doctrine then lead people out of darkness and into the light for free.
You conveniently left out this part.
ACTS 8:26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.
This perfect illustrates that you have to be guided by the spirit. Yes, men can be the agency. But without the Spirit of God involved, it will come to nothing.
OK, so what about the millions of different individuals all claiming to be one with the spirt yet all going in different directions?
Which ones are wrong? Everyone but you?
How do we try the Spirit?
By the Word of God rightly divided.
There have been many cults and many followers because the followers placed their faith in the cult leader rather then the Word of God.
Those who are deceived follow a deceiver who claims to be led by the spirit.
Which spirit is true? How do we test the spirit, by tarot cards? Or a soothsayer?
Or, by the Word of God!
