Clarke in his book, “Childhood’s End” and a variation on this theme has been advanced by Davies, Crick, and Ralph Pudritz of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Davies has written seriously about the possibility of “alien bioengineering” that could be detected in the genetic material of life on earth and suggests that citizen scientists and school students be enlisted to help search for evidence. I don't understand why materialists who believe man is an evolved ape would subscribe to any sort of "goal." If everything is random, why not just party till the end? That makes more sense than trying to create utopia.

I also don't understand how the author can be an orthodox Protestant and continue to invoke ancient church fathers. According to orthodox Protestantism, all those church fathers are in Hell, and according to the religion of those church fathers, all Protestants go to Hell.

Thanks. I missed that movie, but I'm not surprised by his case for panspermia when he's also gone on record saying "evolution is a fact of science."
