Even in WWII they went to great measures to make sure the old churches in Europe were not hit. Lights were lit up all around them and pilots dropping bombs did their best not to hit them.

That was with WWII technology.

Your church has a building program, doesn't it? does it include modern materials? Well their Annex was built in modern times. Compare the upgrades to Chartres Cathedral:

Of course I care. I care deeply. But war is not a trifle. It is not a game. Too many people use this group or that group as pawns. They start a war, and the moment the other side fights back, we get all this whining about civilians or 'proportionality'. People of all stripes get sucked in. Innocents get hurt. It is a special kind of Hell.

Those that start a war cavalierly should not be lionized. They are not heroes. Those around them should focus their anger at THEM. Starting a war creates far more havoc than the original purpose. Of course I care. But you can't fight a war separating the flyspecks from the pepper. It is a monstrous thing, war, and it has a way of careening out of control.

Iran has been itching for the real thing for a long time and that president of their is like “Just give me a reason, Israel”

Now Israel has just pissed off the Orthodox community.
