The confrontation between Elijah and the prophets of Baal atop Mt Carmel ended with drama: the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the wet sacrifice. It was clear who the true God was. Elijah was a true prophet, and the prophets of Baal were false prophets. So what should be done with the false prophets? We read what happened in v40:
And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape.” And they seized them. And Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon and slaughtered them there. (1 Ki. 18:40 ESV)
How does reading that make you feel? I imagine, like me, you recoil in horror at this. How terrible! It is as if Elijah is not satisfied with making these prophets look foolish, so he wants to kill them all as well. Isn’t this overkill? Where is the grace?

One of the greatest moral and religious struggles, which I’m now facing is the Gaza situation. How to hold the Hamas demons accountable without the mass killing of Palestinians? Is the issue as simple as — they voted for Hamas as their governing authority so the Palestinian people should be treated the same as Hamas? Somehow that doesn’t make sense to me. How is Hamas going to be held accountable if they hide within their own people’s enclave and use these people as shields?
People voting for hamas makes them the same as supporting hamas. If the people do not support hamas, those people should leave Gaza. Should they not leave, as Israel has warned them to do, I see no sense in allowing them to live. Supporting hamas is being hamas

There were multiple times in Scripture where God judged entire nations and wiped them out. Of course there were some innocents, but the national judgement was extinction.
If there are true Christian "Palestinians" then they will be home with God. If not, then....
Either way, Judgement stands, and it is NOT up to us to question it.

As far as national judgments, any nation may also be the tool for God’s Judgment upon another nation. It’s recorded so in Scripture as well.
