Regards,
Only here in the West and America where a majority of minds are captive to secular materialism/naturalism do such people believe souls, angels, demons, the 3rd heaven, and so on do not exist.
A NDE by definition means you are *alive* and a brain that is alive is capable of experiencing hallucinations.
‘Only here in the West and America where a majority of minds are captive to secular materialism/naturalism...’
only here in the west and America where a majority of minds are captive to rational thought...
FIFY
Never claimed that NDEs were called that throughout the world. But when discussing these phenomena with a Western audience, it isn't misleading to use the term. That is also the term used by the article to which I provided a hyperlink. So I don't understand why you are arguing with me / attempting to "correct" me.
[...] where shaman experience out of body confrontations with gods, Eastern mystical pantheist god-men travel out of body or within when they stand before gods and goddesses on other planets, and so on.
Again: The article to which I linked was about NDEs - no talk about "shaman," etc. Rather, these incidents (people near death or already declared dead, but then later revived) and the experiences they related (meeting "mystical" beings, being told that it was "not yet their time," and being sent back to life, etc.) are by all means comparable to the incidents and experiences reported in the Western world. The only noteworthy differences are that
1) The people in the Eastern cultures don't report having passed through a "tunnel of light," and
2) The people in the Eastern world encounter "higher" beings resembling those of their religions (demons, demi-gods, etc.) rather than those of Western religions (angels, etc.). Not surprising!
Only here in the West and America where a majority of minds are captive to secular materialism/naturalism do such people believe souls, angels, demons, the 3rd heaven, and so on do not exist.
I don't understand why you are directing this argumentative rant towards me. I made no statement about people "captive" to secular materialism, etc. - I merely linked to an article about similar incidents and experiences (though from an Eastern perspective). I simply felt that, in the context of the lead article about "Scientific Evidence for Life After Death," it might provide interesting insights.
Regards,
If only that were really true!
Regards,
Check out Jonathan Cahn's book, The Return of the gods..
Hospitals should paint a secret message on its roof so only those spirits floating up csn see it.
Then they can know if these NDEs are real afterwards
Online conversations leave much to be desired. For instance, we are unable to see facial expressions or hear tone of voice, thus unable to properly judge whether a respondent is arguing or agreeing. That said, I was neither arguing with you or attempting to correct you. I was not disputing the info at the hyperlink but adding to and expanding upon the subject at hand according to some of my knowledge.
How do you define hallucination?
spirited irish: Online conversations leave much to be desired.
Agreed!

Thanks for the clarification; understood!
Might I suggest using something like the following formulation before launching a "rant" not directed at the person to whom you are replying?
I AGREE with you, fellow FReeper! But for the "audience" out there - in case anyone else is "listening in" - let me add the following remarks...
Regards,
Thanks for posting this. Don’t know if I’ll watch this hour-long video, since I’ve heard Gary on this subject previously. But you’ve given me the choice....
Separately, I respect Ankerberg’s discernment and his commitment to portraying truth.
I am not sure about NDE’s.
But many, many. many years ago I had either a dream or an “out of body experience’, when I was sleeping on my couch one evening.
In the experience/dream I was returning to my apartment, walking down the hallway from the elevator to my door, and there was a young woman with a much older man following me. My emotions then had me wanting to keep away from the young woman and her older companion, and instantly I re-entered my apartment (never “opening” the door) and “woke up”.
O.k., a crazy dream.
But the more weird part of it was:
A couple days later I was in the subway complex under Union Square in Manhattan, walking across the main mezzanine from one train line to another, when suddenly, passing by in the bunch of people to the left of me, going in the opposite direction, walked the young woman with her older campanion who I recognized from my experience/dream the other nite, only this time the older man was blind.
I don’t really try to understand it. It simply was what it was. Maybe someday God will let me understand it.
It’s an interesting topic. One day we’ll know for certain about this phenomenon.
It’s possible. Stephen saw Jesus in heaven while he was dying during his stoning.
Here’s more at GotQuestions. They bring up visions.
What does the Bible say about near death experiences?

Being interested in NDEs myself. Some people who get a glimpse of it come back as self-described experts. Like walking through a garage and becoming a mechanic. Read The Bible. God tells us all we need to know.
