So you’re non-dispensational.
This passage not only destroys the replacement theory, it also tells us the Jews must come to Christ before the rapture/resurrection occurs.
God fulfilled his promises to Israel in Jesus Christ.
In Romans 11:5-6, Paul makes it clear that this remnant is chosen *by grace*, just like all the rest who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. The remnant therefore is not saved based on their nationality or the fact that they are descendants of Israel! Of course there are descendants of Israel who have put their faith in Jesus Christ, and this is the remnant he describes. I think it’s pretty clear on this, don’t you?
But I know many people who believe it should be practiced on in the sense that us Christians should act like we're set apart as God's chosen people (even those of us who don't have Calvinist beliefs).
Before faith came, we were held in custody under law, confined for the faith that was to be revealed. Consequently, the law was our disciplinarian for Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a disciplinarian. For through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free person, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendant, heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:23-29)There is only one covenant in Jesus Christ for both Jew and non-Jew.
Can Jesus return before the Jews accept him?
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling! Look, your house is left to you desolate. For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’" - Matthew 23:37-39
God’s people are those who are in Christ. Jews & Gentiles outside of Christ are blind & lost.
"For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two (Jew & Gentile in Christ), thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity." - Peg 3:14-16
Re: Post 49. Peg should be Eph. Thank you spelling AI /s
That’s a book of the Bible I’m not familiar with.
LOL!
The book of Peggy.
James never claimed authority, but your “Pope” does - which you gladly give him.
You and other Catholics do not speak for True Christians Saved by the Blood of Christ via John 14:6 and Romans 10:9-13.
It falls flat on legalistic BS nonsense.
Take it up with God on your rules for whatever your “Vicar of Christ” states - which that in itself is utter Blasphemy.
But I digress...
God Bless You Dear Sir.
There are all sorts of crazies here on FR stating just that.
It’s not hard to find them.
I know several who think that way too.
It’s a demonic teaching from the pit of hell.
Why does Satan care?
For some, not the rest.
I highly recommend you read (and then re-read) Zechariah 12 - all of it.
Then the book of Hosea.
Those books address their rejection and repentance.
This article is addressed to you, but I wouldn’t expect you to understand it because your baseline is 180 degrees off and dictated by others who read the Bible for you.
Do you stand with Israel and Jews or not?
Are they not God’s Children?
If you answer ‘no’ to either - you’ve got problems.
Man brother, we can start a whole other thread on your suggestion.
I love the KJV and NKJV. Some translations are better than others.
The Spirit should talk to us and when there is something we don’t understand we need to ask for understanding.
A humble ask for guidance usually produces knowledge.
