CV NEWS FEED // Bishop David Ricken of the Diocese of Green Bay denounced the inclusion of a Satanic Christmas tree in the National Railroad Museum’s Festival of Trees, calling it “offensive” and harmful to “the unity and joy that the Christmas season brings.”
The bishop’s Tuesday press release came after the Satanic Temple of Wisconsin’s tree garnered national attention and Wisconsin Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher publicly opposed the display.
“Allowing a traditional understanding of Christmas to be usurped and desecrated by an organization/cult is divisive during a time of the year that we come together in unity as a community,” Ricken stated.
“Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ,” he continued:
Displaying a Christmas tree with bright red lights, inverted crosses, pentagrams and other satanic symbolism, with a snake wrapped around the tree where our savior belongs, is not something families and children should be exposed to at any time, but most especially during this Christmas season. The tree is offensive and harms the unity and joy that the Christmas season brings.
The press release states that the bishop will be writing a letter to the National Railroad Museum’s Board of Directors and that he invites all people of good will to join him in contacting the Museum to express their outrage over the Satanic display.
Contact information can be found on the Museum’s website.
The Diocese of Green Bay also noted in its statement:
Now is the time to exercise our right, and our duty as faith filled residents of this area to stand up for religious truth and discourage evil. This is a time to be alert and ready (Lk 21:34-36) countering evil forces that are at play throughout the world, and within our own backyard.
Bishop Ricken also encouraged all Christians to pray the St. Michael the Archangel prayer because “prayer works miracles.”
“In Scripture we see that our Lord sends angels to assist and guide us on this journey to heaven and to overcome evil that confronts us,” he wrote.
Is he the only Christian in that state???
Is he the only Christian in that state???
Bishop Ricken is very pleased with himself, isn’t he? He goes all in on the stupid annual display, which is the lowest hanging fruit possible; but did nothing whatsoever to defend Bishop Strickland. Hmm...
Members of the U.S. Conference of Cowardly Bishops neither individually, or jointly, had the nerve to question this most blatant and unjust removal. This proves, with few exceptions, that the USCCB frat brothers are unfit to serve.
Forget the “nice letter”. How about just tearing the thing down and replacing it with a non-sacrilegious one. It’s what they do whenever they decide they hate our statues and paintings, isn’t it?
Let Satan find His own day to celebrate...I bet when someone comes up with it, no Christian symbols will be allowed for “diversity and inclusion”....
For Atheists, Christmas is the most important day of the year.
They just have to live with it, because they only obey the courts and the legislators who say this garbage must be allowed.
America has abandoned God completely, and He has allowed this once great nation to collapse under the weight of evil.
Real winners there. /s
It breaks my heart to see people making so grave a mistake. They have no idea what awaits...
How miserable they must be right now...
It’s Cultural Appropriation! “Unacceptable” behavior!
actually they had a pic when this story first broke, in another article.
