One aspect of the post-Christian era in the West is that ordinary Christian views held by ordinary Christian people are almost entirely unknown to a growing portion of our populations. It should not be news that Christians in public positions hold beliefs that virtually all Christians have held for thousands of years and yet, because of the monumental ignorance of the press and several successive generations cut off from their civilizational inheritance by a derelict and deformed public school system, many seem to treat these revelations with shock.

I think a lot of the misunderstanding about Christianity is due to the bad examples displayed by some famous people who say they are Christians but are not, so people get the wrong impression.
Then there are those bad examples who say you must work your way to heaven, and that is not the gospel (good news) message.
I don’t know how widespread it is, but the church I was attending seemed content to keep the Holy Spirit in a closet in a back room. People seemed to want to hear of the forgiveness by Jesus but would rather not hear of the guidance and convictions by the Holy Spirit.
More problematic are the non-Christians who think they can pick and choose an interpretation of what Christianity is or should be and try to bind that on Christians as social/governmental policy while ignoring all the black and white situations. So we’re nagged to love our neighbors and feed the homeless (open borders, free everything) and not judge (love is love), etc., but how dare Christians remind anyone that sex is for married people, that God hates homosexuality, that abortion is murder, etc. Truly backward and wicked, and we’ve given in and allowed this to happen.
....for we wrestle not against flesh and blood...

Like, ummm, that Trump guy?
its maddening to see movies, media and especially tv put words in “ Christians” mouths or state “ Christian “ beleifs that show they know many things that arent so.
scripture qouted that is no where in the bible ,,,
doctrins that are nowhere in the bible...
ect...
its even more maddening to hear in the meat world Christians doing the same.
i used to carry a backpack around in my rig that contained kjv, nkjv, niv. nasb , thayers greek interlinear new testament with strongs referance #’s and an strongs exaustive concordance so that when i heard anyone say something was in the bible and i knew it wasnt.
” the bible says..”
i would say “ where ? show me “
” if you cant find it i can show you how to find it with the concordance “
i used the same tactic with seculars hostile to Christianity.
I found out quick people dont really give a damn what the bible really says and will not admit their error.
Ever.
my buddy and i experimented with this backpack.
we would take it to gigs or public events or just place it by a store ,, and no one EVER asked what was in the pack or walked off with it or even LOOK inside it.
it was like it radiated spiritual truth and the world had no interest.
theft proof it was.
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
“ to keep the Holy Spirit in a closet in a back room….”
Do they preach the Word there?
Obviously, it’s not the whole Word of God.
+1
