Now we've got to say one thing right off the bat. We are talking about an unbloody sacrifice and we are talking about a sacrifice in which Christ's death is represented. We are not talking about a bloody sacrifice where Christ is still bleeding. We are not talking about the fact that Christ is still dying on Calvary. He's not dying. He's been buried. He's been raised. He's ascended. He's enthroned and there he is in glory. But as he is in glory, he is the Lamb of God, enthroned as the Pascal Lamb; and so all of this belongs together in a very deep and mysterious way and I for one do not pretend to think that I can encapsulate or summarize it all adequately.

Salvation is in the blood. A bloodless sacrifice is a imitation without value

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

It was a completed sacrifice

Rom 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Hbr 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

There is no need for continuing imitation sacrifices ..."It is Finished"

This is what he is saying. You did not read the entire thing. It is a re-presentation of the ONE, BLOODY SACRIFICE - that is, the same one! At Mass we are present at THE Foot of the Cross - where Christ offered himself to the Father for our sins. The priest is merely a stand-in of sorts - but Christ himself actually performs the Mass. With God there is no time - we are taken back in time to the foot of the Cross at the Mass.

BTW, this man has a doctorate in Scripture and is a former Presbyterian Minister. The man is a genius when it comes to Scripture.

If you are a believer there is no need for discussion. If you do not believe nor want to learn or understand, no amount of discussion will work..

...This is not some novel invention in the Middle Ages. For instance, there at the end of the 1st Century, St. Ignatius of Antioch, disciple of the beloved disciple John, spoke of the heretics who were plaguing the Church in his day. "They abstained from the Eucharist because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior, Jesus Christ." It's a perennial problem, isn't it? Then St. Justin Martyr in the 2nd Century, one of the great apologists, defenders of the faith, stated, "This food is known among us as the Eucharist. We do not receive these things as common bread and common drink but as Jesus Christ, our Savior, being made flesh by the word of God."

So we have testimony throughout all of the first centuries of the Church to this effect. You are hard-pressed, I would say it is practically impossible to find a single statement by anybody in the first eight centuries of the Church where you have a denial of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ, flesh and blood, body, soul and divinity there in the Eucharist.

I remember when I first discovered that, I was still anti-Catholic, but boy, did that bother me; because I wondered how could John's disciple get it so wrong? How could St. Ignatius say something so patently false and superstitious after spending all this time at the feet of the beloved disciple, St. John?

How blessed are we who are called and believe?

"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to the disciples.  'Take it and eat,' he said, 'this is my body.'  Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he handed it to them saying, "Drink from this all of you, for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."  Matthew 26: 26-28

Luke 22:19-20 "And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me. In like manner the chalice also, after he had supped, saying: This is the chalice, the new testament in my blood, which shall be shed for you."

So you would say that Jesus' command "Do this in memory of me" he didn't really mean it? That we should continue to share the Lord's Supper and the sacrifice in His memory?

The Lords supper is an ordinance of the church..instituted by Christ and to be kept untill that marriage supper of the LAMB:>)

But remember that the passover was also an ordinance given to the Jews as a memorial...

This was give to us as a time to stop and consider the Love of God and His body broken for us and his holy blood shed for the remission of my sin>

But unless you see the fulness of the connection between the Passover and the Lords supper you miss the spitirual meaning

1.Sacrificial meal. The Passover consisted of both a sacrifice and a meal, and was the most important of all the sacrificial meals. A lamb was sacrificed as an atonement for sin. The lamb was then roasted and eaten at a meal with unleavened bread. Ex 12:8-10 "For Christ our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast...but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth." 1Cor 5:7b-8

2.Seal of the covenant. As a commemoration, Passover was also an affirming of the covenant between God and Israel, strengthening of the allegiance. Jesus speaks of the cup as a sign of the covenant, which was about to be ratified through his sacrificial death "This cup is the new covenant in my blood" Lk 22:19

3.Bread and wine. According to ancient Jewish records, near the end of the Passover meal, the head of the company would take the cake of unleavened bread and pronounce these words- "This is the bread of misery which our fathers ate in the land of Egypt." Christ substituted for these words, the words of institution "This is my body, broken for you.." Then the cup was filled the third time and raised to God in thanksgiving. It was called by the Jews, the cup of blessing, the same term that Paul uses to refer to the communion cup.

To those of us that do not see it as the actual body in substance we see it as a Holy moment of the sealing of the New Covenant..

OT covenants were sealed with meals.. Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

The listeners knew how a covenant was cut..as can anyone chosing to take the time to study the OT

Two of them were making a feast Gen 26:30 , and by offering a sacrifice Gen 15:9-17; Jer 34:18,19 were two of the methods..

They also would have understood Jesus saying that He was the Bread of Life..(Manna...that came down from heaven)John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

unlike the Jews in the desert that had to gather manna everyday to live,He was also sent from heaven..but they would never hunger again.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

They understood the comparison he was making ...

And someday the saints will share that meal

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].

It is holy to all of us!

IMHO the "mass" is an abomination to God.

IMHO - that's the problem - it's only YHO. Fact is, YHO goes directly against Christ's very command and His wishes and plan for us clearly written in the Scripture and passed down from the Apostles. Your very words are an abomination to God.

Right this very moment, this Lamb's Supper is being celebrated in heaven in concert with all the Masses of the world. Will you reject it when you die, too? Remember, one dies as one lives. Please set aside your *opinions* and those of others, and open your heart. If you take another look at Revelation, you will see THE HOLY MASS.

Is it??? Show me the command in scripture to have a bloodless sacrifice..

BTW I do not believe the "marriage supper of the Lamb "is an ongoing banquet..but one set for the day the bridegroom comes to take His Bride ( the chuch) home......the bride dressed in fine linin is the church..

The Lords supper is a sign of that promise...

"DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME."

It doesn't get any plainer than that. YAWN.

Stop rebelling, Mom. Set aside your opinions and come home to where you belong. He's waiting.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
