EX-SEMINARIAN ADMITS KILLING RECTOR
PANAMA CITY, Panama, (CWNews.com) - A former seminarian confessed to killing the seminary rector, claiming he was angry about being expelled, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
Marcos Musharaf was expelled from the seminary six years ago and allegedly murdered Msgr. Jorge Altafulla at his parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Witnesses placed Musharaf at the parish on Sunday where Altafulla was murdered as he prepared for Mass.
Musharaf was arrested on Monday at his home. Prosecutors also said that Musharaf admitted to placing a note near Altafulla's body suggesting the priest was a child molester. "He said he did it because he wanted to cause damage," prosecutor Carlos Augusto Herrera said.
