Prayers for the Month of June

June 12th, 1994
Brother John Raymond

On the 10th of this month we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our Lord specifically asked (through His Apostle St. Margaret Mary) that we receive Holy Communion and offer it in reparation to His Sacred Heart on that day. Why is Holy Communion so important to Our Lord's Heart? It is because the Holy Eucharist is the loving invention of His Heart. Jesus called it the "Sacrament of His Love" (again to St. Margaret Mary). Jesus would not leave us orphans so He invented a way to remain among us. He is there for us! He desires in Holy Communion to be united to us! Unfortunately Man's loving return for this great invention of the Heart of Jesus is summed up in one word, ingratitude. Man's ingratitude has reached its height in our particular times. Before Our Lady's apparitions at Fatima in 1917, an Angel came to three children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, the latter two now blessed. He taught them a prayer that mentioned Eucharistic "outrages, sacrileges and indifference." In the recent past Father Stephano Gobbi, an Italian priest who receives interior locutions from Our Lady, was told that this prayer taught by the Angel was a prophecy for our times. The same theme runs through many recent Marian Apparitions. I would like to mention one other - Akita, Japan. Here Our Lady inserted the word Truly to a prayer said by the visionary's religious community every day. (For more information about these important Eucharistic and Marian Apparitions a small book entitled "Our Lady, An Angel and Sister Agnes" by Brother Craig Driscoll can be ordered from The Monks of Adoration, 1227 Horizon Road, Venice, FL. 34293. Price $3.00 + $1.00 Postage.) Traditionally the whole month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We want to make up to the Heart of Jesus for our time's great Eucharistic ingratitude. Especially for lack of signs of reverence such as genuflections and nonchalant manners of receiving Holy Communion, receiving Holy Communion in the state mortal sin, the many reported Eucharistic abuses, empty and locked churches, lack of Eucharistic thanksgivings after Holy Communion, loss of faith in the Real Presence, etc. Let us do this by first ourselves having a great Eucharistic reverence, love and gratitude. Second by praying the following prayers in reparation every day:

Angel of Fatima Prayer: "O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the outrages, sacrileges and indifference by which He is offended. Through the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. Amen."

Akita Prayer: "Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, TRULY present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart, being sacrificed at every instant, on the altars of the world, giving praise to the Father and pleading for the coming of His kingdom. Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls. Most Holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as Your special child. Amen."

I link to it on my web site... www.dailyprayerpage.com . They have real audio available for the Office of Reading, Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer. They also have some beautiful real video on Eucharistic Miracles. I also recommend it highly.
