Some of the abuse took place at a house on Long Beach Island that Father Osinski rented with Bishop Rodimer. I guess that vow of poverty went out the window the same time as the vow of chastity. I've been to Long Beach Island, and it's not cheap to rent a house there for the summer.
Only people living a Monastic life are required to take a vow of poverty. That's besides the point though because Long Beach Island isn't exactly Martha's Vineyard or the Hamptons.
