[history]
A cardiologist at Redding Medical Center, Dr. Chae Hyun Moon, had told him he was at death's door unless he had immediate triple bypass surgery. So, Corapi -- once a multimillionaire who tumbled into cocaine addiction and homelessness before becoming a nationally known Catholic priest -- wrote a will and scheduled emergency heart surgery at a Las Vegas hospital, where a friend promised to take care of him afterward.

What's really frightening...Tenet is the company that bought St. Louis Univ. Hospital. Archbishop Rigali tried to stop it, but the Jesuits wouldn't be waylayed.

That is very frightening indeed. Of course, the Jesuits seem to be marching to their own drummer, and I'm not quite sure where its leading them...

Absolutely amazing!
BTW, the Father Corapi series on the Catholic Catechism that he did for Sacramento religious ed teachers is fantastic.
I would recommend that any parish wanting to more fully instruct their people in the Life of Jesus Christ take seriously the opportunity to show this film/video series.
Catechism bump to you, NYer!

He almost always wears his habit or the traditional black suit with Roman collar. I can only guess that his Order has a discipline of not wearing clerical garb when conducting personal business.
