I was baptized as an adult after reading the scriptures and understanding what being baptized is all about. It is a very holy experience that is best undertaken when one has complete understanding of the implications. I believe that there should only be one baptism and that when the soul fully agrees to it and is able to comprehend what it is truly about. You cheat a soul out of the experience if you do not let it make the decision, just like communion. For me, it was mind-blowing and should be for everyone. That;s my understanding. Nothing like it.

One cannot teach baptism correctly without teaching that Jesus rose from the dead. It is through baptism that we become united with Christ in His death and consequently also in his resurrection.
To reject baptism, is to personally reject the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And to reject the resurrection of Jesus Christ is to reject Him as the Son of God.
Therefore, if we deny baptism, we deny Christ from raising us from death, and if so, we are still in our sins.
I literally was resurrected on the day that I was baptised.

The key verse would be 1Pet.3:21 which explains that Baptism is only a figure of salvation, hence, being immersed represents our identification with the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (1Cor.15:3-5)
