The question was initially yours; you wanted us Calvinist to answer up or down whether God caused man to sin. I really didn't think any of you would say that he did. I was suprised by many of the answers. I was hoping that you guys would say, "Oh of Course not. That's not what we believe." Surprise, surprise, surprise.

God controls all, whether you like it or not.

God controls all, whether you like it or not. He seems to be having a lot of trouble keeping you under control. You must be a pretty pretty powerful guy to be able to thwart the will of God like you do. What's your secret?
To: P-Marlowe
Men are wholly responsible not for their salvation, but for their damnation. It is the rejection of God's calling that seals their fate.
That bears repeating. Everything I've learned from the Bible agrees with those two sentences.

I take back my last post. Apparently you think it is God who is making you lie and commit all these other sins, like calling people morons. Sorry, I thought it was you. Now I know better.
I suppose we should all give God the glory for all your shortcomings.
Can I get an Amen?

Your tagline is great.
the_doc used to say that people don't realize just how horrible the fall really was. Just a bump in the road, they figure. Something to navigate on the road to fulfillment.

Everything I've learned from the Bible agrees with those two sentences. That's the way God "raised me up" to believe. The Holy Spirit has confirmed that interpretation in my heart over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and again and again and again...
God does not lie. He does not make insincere offers. He states clearly that he wants all men to be saved. If you have to change the words of the Bible to fit your theology, then it is time to change theologies. When all the scriptures are balanced it is clear that God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his only begotten Son and that God truly wants all men to be saved.

I suppose you agreeing with a Calvinist is a good start.
Keep it up.

Free agency; I am not forced to do anything. You sure as heck think you were forced to accept Jesus. You're also sure as heck that most people are forced to reject him.
Make up your mind. Are you a "free agent" or are you a Chatty Cathy doll?
...you are a smart guy.
I thought you said I was a moron. Make up your mind.

I suppose you agreeing with a Calvinist is a good start. Calvin had his good points. "P" was one.
Calvin also liked to roast heretics. When Servetus stepped up to the Pearly Gates, Jesus undoubtedly greeted him and said: "Well done..." He had Calvin to thank for that.
To: P-Marlowe
I was not forced to accept Christ; though I was predestined, I still willingly chose him because he molded my heart to accept him.

Please explain how Calvin roasted a man he did not have the authority to execute....
