You would think that after twenty-five years he would see that subsidiarity isn't working, that millions of people are losing the faith because of it. But in truth, I don't buy this argument. After all, he keeps appointing these bad prelates--they are his doing. How many decades does it take for a pope to figure out he needs to take more care to appoint men who are devout and learned and free of sexual hang-ups?

How many decades does it take for a pope to figure out he needs to take more care to appoint men who are devout and learned and free of sexual hang-ups?I can only assume that the pope's appointments are based on his criteria of what constitutes devotion and learnedness. That his judgement and yours are not identical is a tragedy to be sure. It is a sad thing that he is not privvy to your opinions, and it is a sad thing that he is unable to share in your wisdom. I'm sure that his holiness is deficient as well. Oh well. Maybe you could get a stick.

Have you heard of Pope Leo XII's vision of the devil being allowd to subvert the Church for 100 years. It has been spirtual warfare and now, the time is up! I have often wondered about that and about the timing. Did it start at the time of Leo XIII, or did it start at the time (1965) when the Prayer to St. Michael was dropped after Mass? And don't be too quick to bet against the devil in this 100-year battle. We know who wins the war, but the devil is more than capable of winning a few battles.

God will triumph!The Devil has won a few battles in the last 100 years. I think it started around 1900 and now it's over.
