I think one of the biggest mistakes back "in those days" is that Catholics were not really taught to think. Still going on these days...unfortunately, I see it right here on FR. It seems that many/most people who desert Christ are those who escape from the Catholic dogma.
Fortunately, many land elsewhere in Christian lives.

I knew a man about 50 years old. He had a physical on a Friday afternoon, it even included a stress test and tests that weren't available back then, he was prounounced "Healthy as a horse" and he was dead on Saturday afternoon from a massive heart attack.

Fortunately,many land elsewhere in Christian lives.Wish a lot of these non thinking Freeper Catholics would land elsewhere in Christian lives too,and remain there until they are ready for the fullness of truth.(One way or another.)

My mother always used to tell me not to believe what I read in the newspapers regarding JFK's peccadillos. LOL -- at least you had an early grounding in not swallowing whole what the newspapers had to say!
