VA AG 2009: Cuccinelli has made a positive difference [letter to the editor]
The Daily Progress, Charlottesville, Va. ^ | 2009-10-10 | Bernard Greer

As a state senator, Ken Cuccinelli has made a positive difference in the lives of many Virginians. Sen. Cuccinelli passed a bill to keep Virginia government from unfairly seizing private property.

He toughened our laws to keep violent sexual offenders off our streets. He passed a law allowing the government to fire workers who hire illegal immigrants. He passed laws to crack down on gang violence. He fought consistently against tax increases proposed by our governors. He was the deciding vote to ban partial birth abortions.

This is the second very positive letter on Cuccinelli that I have read from the Charlottesville-Albemarle area, which tends to lean Democrat.

[Note that Cuccinelli was endorsed by the RLC.]

I don’t want to count the chickens before they hatch, but it looks like we may have a Republican sweep next month.

You know it’s something good when both libertarians and conservatives agree.

Yup. This guy sounds like the real deal. He should run against that weasel Jim Webb in the Senate.

FYI, the folks who put on the gun shows in Virginia (Dulles) were quite vocal in their support for him - that must mean something!

Ken Cuccinelli , in his own words said he is “staying out” of the battle over whether Jeff Frederick should be replaced as chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia. If Mr. Cuccinelli was a man of principle, he would have defined his position on the coup. He is a stealth RINO and card carrying member of the cabal of coup plotters in Richmond. The current leadership of the Republican Party of Virginia cares more about the glowing endorsements of the Washington Post than the Conservative Base. I would rather have a dimocrat whose lyin’, cheatin,’ and thievin’ you expect, than to be cheated and have fair and open elections overturned by a bunch of banana republic Republicans. Just to remind Virginians, the banana republic Republicans could not stomach the fact that Jeff, a staunch Christian conservative beat them fair and square at the convention the banana republic boys thought they had rigged in their favor, so they executed a coup. This group of banana bloods really hates the Christian conservatives, looking down their long banana noses at us. Thanks to the banana blood Republicans, dimocrats have been winning elections in Virginia for most of this decade. Want to know why Virginia is a purple state and voted for Obama, look no farther than our lyin’, cheatin’, election stealin’ cabal of coup plottin’ RINOs in Richmond.

That happened in April. Fredrick was ousted by a wide margin, I guess all his opponents and even those that were neutral were RINOs huh? Ridiculous. Cuccinelli is a solid conservative.

Amy, I thought Jeff told you to stop posting here.

FWIW, Virginia has always been a purple state. You should know that if you’re going to try and talk politics.

Initially, because I didn’t know him that well (and had not been at the convention when he was elected), I also stayed out of the Frederick mess. Until he started digging himself even deeper, embarrassing not on the party but himself and everyone he could drag along with him. And he’s still pretty much daily whining about it on Facebook.

Ken staying out of it was exactly the right thing to do. And if you’re implyling that Ken Cuccinelli is a RINO you really shouldn’t be involved in politics...or voting for that matter.

Also FWIW, Pat Mullins and the new team at RPV are taking names and kicking butt. They’re not perfect, but, what they’ve managed to do thus far is pretty incredible.

Oh and I missed this part...

Please stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

Are you for real? Dumbest thing a candidate can do is get involved in a fight within the Party. All candidates are warned to stay out of the Party squabbles.

Your comments sure do not mesh with anything I have heard about your current GOP Chair including some from Party people in my state who thinks he is doing a great job.

Obviously don’t understand much about politics or you wouldn’t be posting this attack on the GOP in VA when they are about to take Virginia Red. Your timing stinks!

Sen Cuccinelli pushed Virginia's preemption law that made gun laws consistent across the state. Before that, Fairfax County had a waiting period that effectively made a gunshow impossible.

The Chantilly show wouldn't exist without the work of Ken Cuccinelli and the Virginia Citizen's Defense League. I'm pretty sure the Cuccinelli table and the VCDL table at the show are provided no charge.

http://www.cuccinelli.com/ for Attorney General

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce ran traffic-focused ads all through the Rush and Hannity shows today hitting on Deeds then praising McDonnell. It was good to hear. And Cuccinelli is a strong, pro-life Catholic who is also a strict constructionist on the Constitution. Those wanting to know more about him should check out his website.
