He’ll be another RINO trying to save his sorry arse when the next election rolls around. He voted wrong. Feels guilty and wants others to forget he did it. He’s tying to save his political career. The GOP should REJECT him but hell, they have no sense either.

You obviously know nothing about Alabama and therefore you are unqualified to speak on Griffith

Griffith is a huge pick up for us. 4 of the 6 counties that are wholly comprised in his district have all local offices and all state legislative seats decided solely in the Democratic primary. This leads to the Dems nominating candidates who are always conservative enough to survive a general (because while 40-45% of the population there always votes GOP in a general, they have to vote Dem at primary time or lose their franchise)

And the Dems up there still successfully trade on the supposed connection between their party and Confederate lore (even though the modern Democrats are like Lincolns Republicans and modern Republicans are like the Democrats of back then) and also on the fact that their candidates are down home good ole country boys.

We’ve never been able to tie the Democrats up there to the national party because there are simply very few minorities up there and given that race is the main issue we used to get Dems to switch it makes it much harder. Also because, other than the black population, that part of Alabama has always been the most left leaning part of the state. They believe in traditional values but they’re still economic populists. It’s why Cramer was such a good fit for them.

You may not like Griffith but the thing is he is the most high profile party switcher we have ever gotten out of North Alabama and the fact that he did it directly because of Obama is something that we can use to try and take the legislature.

I want Griffith on the campaign trail next fall for the propaganda value he provides and as such I want him to win the runoff in July.
