Good analysis on the Soviet vs Japan decisions. As "Allies" the biggest contribuion of the Soviets was occupying the majority of German ground forces. IMHO, they were at the best uncooperative and at worst outright working against us at times. Sending them emormous amouts of supplies we needed whileincurring heavy losses on the Murmansk Convoys, refusing to base planes or allow for refueling, etc. It's be hard to pick a worst ally, the only other one would be france.
