Most impressive - especially given his age. Forrest was a tremendous fighter. Some interesting observations:

The Union never learned to ride the South's horsemen. Stuart, Forrest, Mosby, and Morgan come to mind. Perhaps Forrest best demonstrated the potency of an effective cavalry force. Even that Sherman was skeered!

like all IDIOTS & SCALAWAGS, wp is a cretin and HATER!

he's been banned several times for making STUPID/hatefilled/PRO-DIMocRAT rants.

ask him who he voted for for POTUS the last 3 times & who he plans to vote for in '04 (hint: NONE were/are GOP!)

Avon's "Skin So Soft" is supposed to work well. Bugs, the only bad thing about being outdoors!

Forces like Mosby's, Forrest's and Morgan's were worth their weight in gold. Not only did were they effective in combat but they tied up large Union forces in trying to chase them down and provide protection for rear areas.

I just remember that America was founded by "traitors", and I thank God for them.

Morning, Snippy,

If you run across Forrest's reports on Donelson and Shiloh, I recommend them. Pearls of lucidity. Amazing guy.

Read for what is not said. Read up on the campaigns first; the big picture is Grant getting control of the Western waterways. (Grant is a remarkable man, a true man of war. A true believer, a Cromwell.)

I'm glad I could be of service. There's quite a bit of information about him and his command on the web. http://www.carrollscorner.net/WashCoCW.htm
is an atypical site with a bunch of really good links. Enjoy!
