Morning, all. Canyon de Chelly on the Big Res in Arizona is where Carson cornered the Navajo in some savage fighting. It also figured in an earlier Spanish massacre. It's a beautiful place and well worth a visit. It's not far from Monument Valley, where most of the John Ford/John Wayne westerns were shot.

Bent's Old Fort has been turned into a national monument and usually has some re-enacters around. It's near La Junta and is also a nice visit.

Fort Garland in the San Luis Valley has been restored and is also a nice place.

Of course, Santa Fe and Taos are fascinating places in the old towns, although the galleries weren't' there in Carson's day. :)
