BTW, I forgot to mention a tie-in to military history that Fort Reno has beyond it's status as a frontier outpost during the Indian Wars/Land Run: German POW's were housed there during WW II. Below is a link to a pretty good overview of the Fort's history, for those interested:

The monument to Darlington is still there, BTW, at least circa 1987, when I last lived in the area. I used to cut across the Indian Cemetery mentioned in the article on my way to hunt & fish in the woodlands just north of there when I was a kid. That headstone was rather hard to miss.
