IMHO, best scene in the film is when they dive the bomber UNDER the Golden Gate Bridge...also, a marvelous score..

Seen it. Great movie. They also open the 1976 all-star-cast flick "Midway" with scenes from that movie.

Doolittle went on to take over the Mighty Eighth in Europe and he along with Toohey Spaatz and Curtis Lemay shot the Luftwaffe out of the European skies.

We need guys like them today over in the M.E. running air operations in the War On Terror.

Of course Patton on the ground and Halsey at sea over there would be great, too..

As a side note o Hollywood's roman-a-clefs....did you know that the Clark Gable movie "Command Decision" is based on the then-controversial replacement in the ETO of Eaker by Doolittle?
