Thank you very much! Re. Battle of Westport. I used to live at 46th and Summit Street on the west end of the Plaza and the Union artillery pits were all along the bluffs on the north side of Brush Creek. I was putting in a water garden in my backyard. Cannon balls and odd pieces of iron scrap kept popping up all over the place. Still have three six pounder balls I use for door stops. I don't think there will be another re-ennactment of the Battle of Westport unless it is at Bryams Ford. The main battlefield at Loose Park is surrounded by people who take exception to cannon fire and cavalry charges.

BTW, do you have the dates of the Fort Scott event handy. I might want to try and make it down there if my work schedule will allow it.

Thanks for a delightful series. Not being a re-enacter myself, it was a fascinating read of the "inside story." And the wonderful sidebar of the tale of you and Josie was the perfect icing on the cake.
