Both my parents were enlisted during WWII How interesting! My Aunt circa 1944 tried to enlist but she was under age 20 and her parents wouldn't sign the papers. Age 20 was the age when you could go in on your own steam.

From the way my mother told it, most people wanted to enlist and the girls were upset they had to wait so long.
