ROTFLOL!
LOL. I like your #20!
xoxoxo
The legislative building was completed in 1928. This took a little work. The Louisiana capitol doesn't have a dome, but it does have a rotunda. And it was built in 1932. Look down in about the 2nd paragraph of the story here: http://www.lra.louisiana.gov/pr_2_08_06.html
And if you go there, take the tour and see where Huey Long was shot. (It's in a hallway behind the rotunda)
I agree about the lack of 50. They could have come up with the Fish Market, the monorail, the world's fair, Hanford, the Volcanos.... It does make it harder to come up with errors when the target gets smaller.
Actually I graduated from that big Cajun U about 5mi. down river from the Capitol building. If you ever visit our campus you'll notice our law school building is designed identical (smaller scale) to the SCOTUS Bldg., the Admn. building is designed identical (smaller scale) to the US Capitol Bldg. and we have a Memorial tower much like the Washington Monument. All inspired by the mind of Huey Long. There's much more but duty calls . . .
I thought the law school building was bigger than the SCOTUS. I know that the La state capitol was the tallest when built - I don't know if it still is.
I would have to research the building specs. The entire law center probably is greater in square footage but I believe the facade (which Long wanted to resemble SCOTUS Bldg.) is a smaller scale.
LSU law school - my source was third hand urban legend from several decades ago, so it may not be completely reliable.
