Arthur Pryor, born in 1870 in St. Joseph, Missouri, became a virtuoso trombonist, a trombone soloist in Sousa's Band, Sousa's assistant conductor, and beginning in 1903, the conductor of Pryor's Band. In 1917, when America entered World War I, Pryor composed a "patriotic march song" titled "We'll Be There, Uncle Sammy". Here are the lyrics by William Devereux with a MIDI sequence of the music by Arthur Pryor.
