SAN FRANCISCO -- Before handcuffing herself to the White House fence, former Petty Officer First Class Autumn Sandeen carefully pinned three rows of Navy ribbons to her chest. Her regulation dress blue skirt, fitted jacket, hat and black pumps were new -- fitting for a woman who spent two decades serving her country as a man.
Sandeen was the only transgender person among the six veterans arrested in April while protesting the military's ban on openly gay troops. But when she watched President Obama last month sign the hard-fought bill allowing for the ban's repeal, melancholy tinged her satisfaction.
"This is another bridesmaid moment for the transgender community," the 51-year-old San Diego resident said.
The "don't ask, don't tell" policy now heading toward history does not apply to transgender recruits, who are automatically disqualified as unfit for service. But the military's long-standing posture on gender-identity has not prevented transgender citizens from signing up before they come out, or from obtaining psychological counseling, hormones and routine health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs once they return to civilian life.

Since congress voted to “end the discrimination” against gays by repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, they will have little choice but to also “end the discrimination” against Transgender and any other “alternate lifestyle” demanding an “end to discrimination” against them. Once the door has been opened, it cannot be shut again.
Once done, considering they have announced that heterosexual Troops MUST shower with Homosexual Troops, will that mean that female Troops also MUST shower with male Troops that identify themselves as female, although all of their masculine components remain fully intact?
What next, Pedophile Veterans of American, Bestiality Veterans, Pederast Veterans, National Association for the Advancement of Bigamists demanding recognition too?

Whenever someone points out the logical (and deleterious) progression of granting freshly minted ‘rights’ and making accommodations by saying “if they get this, they’ll want that” the left will scream out XENOPHOBE! PARANOID! NO WE WON’T! WE JUST WANT EQUALITY WITHIN STRICT PARAMETERS!
Of course, as soon as the door is cracked open here comes the march of the deviants they claimed wouldn’t happen.

And, disturbing, taxpayers are footing the bill for “therapy” and “hormone treatment” used to prepare them for “gender assignment surgery” while we have truly needy Veterans and wounded Troops waiting for much needed funds for their care.
Once approved for Military Service, and how can they deny them enlistment, will we begin paying for changing gender surgically based on a short 2 years service?
I have read that one expectation is that gays and lesbians who would like to become transgendered will be joining the services with one specific intent in mind. They believe that their military health benefits will be mandated to include coverage for their sex change operations.
All one of them?
It worked in this case. The Navy and VA enabled the process.

So now we’re “progressing” down the road of allowing additional categories of the mentally ill to join the military.

When I look back on my 20 years, and seeing this warped POS, I’m saddened I spent my youth on a country that allows this to happen.
We act as though Jesus Christ didn’t hang on a cross, nor did He resurrect: and now there is no moral absolutes, and we can’t be an example for the world.
