Don’t like the police? Next time, try calling a hippie.

Cops are the enemy. They shoot the family dog, toss flash-bangs on babies, and shoot up vans with innocent people.

There is no situation that will not be made worse by the presence of a cop.

Cops are not there to protect you. They respond to crimes after they’ve happened.

From the article:
Lately everywhere I look on social media, the news and even in public places, I hear how much people hate cops. They talk about things like “the militarization of police” and discuss how the boys in blue "don't really need” armored personnel carriers, rifle-protective vests, AR-15 rifles, NODS, etc. Those stupid "when did this become this" memes are everywhere. People have been beating this drum loud lately, and frankly I'm tired of hearing it. Its just plain ridiculous and asinine to ask law enforcement to do such a dangerous job without those special tools at their disposal.

It wouldn't be so dangerous if they, you know, (a) bothered to ensure they were at the right address, (b) weren't always in "out to get you"/"you're just a perp we haven't caught yet" modes, (c) DIDN'T LIE ON THE WITNESS STAND, (d) didn't tolerate those that do.

A good example is the rise in SWAT usage — is there something wrong with "old fashioned"/boring detective work? What about "waiting him out" tactics?
Oh, wait, that would end up undermining the "need" for military equipment and training.

I haven't posted it in a while, but it's stuff like this that makes me believe that LEOs like it when you

Like everything else, there is good and bad. That said, I find them useless. In all my dealings they never once caught the perp and did everything they could to avoid doing paperwork.

I once had a case of water stolen from my car and even though someone got the license of the car the assholes got away in the cop said to me “You really want to press charges over a case of water?”

So much for principle. I told him have a nice day. and the next time I call will be for you to come pick up the dead body for breaking into my car.

And if you think you’re going to arrest me you can go F*** yourself.

and I have two brothers retired from NYPD.

Article title is actually just clickbait. The rest of the article is a badge polishing peice about how tough cops have it and if we don’t like the bad apples we need to change our politicians or some such. I will agree that the rot starts with the politicians, DA’s and judges but that doesn’t mean we should love their enforcers.

The article completely ignores the reasons people in general are turning against cops. Namely that they are unaccountable when they violate citizens, that those violations are becoming more common (or at least more well known), and that the “good cops” who are supposed to be the majority always support the bad ones.

Another thread for the Bill Ayers-idoling New Left, Al Sharpton-loving, Ferguson fanboy FR contingent.

These usual suspects also seem to want Democrats to win as well.

Big surprise, not.

I have family that is LEO. I have a number of friends that are LEO. I tell them all the same thing: When the “good cops” stand up and speak out and DO SOMETHING about the “bad cops”, I’ll have much more respect. Until then, they are all “bad cops”.

The only thing I ask is that civilian law enforcement be held to the same standards and have to obey the same laws as every other civilian.

That means they should not be allowed to carry or use weapons that are prohibited to other civilians in their same jurisdiction. When off-duty they should have to have the same carry permit as anyone else would have to have.

When they shoot someone who’s just holding a cell phone or when they assault someone who’s getting them on video doing something wrong they should face the same justice that they would impose on anyone else.

And if they conduct warrantless searches then they should face the same consequences as anyone else who commits a felony act of breaking and entering.

I say all of this because how am I supposed to accept the notion of people who supposedly enforce laws that they’re exempt from?

So why do I own armor, night vision, black scary guns and shit ton of other “military” type gear? Because I can. As a free American, I can own anything I want, including a machine gun, a silencer or even what the press calls "a tank"...If you say cops shouldn’t have access to “military” style equipment, then you might as well just say “lets cancel the Second Amendment"...I firmly believe in outgunning your opponent whenever possible.

There's a significant problem with this argument. I'm guessing he didn't see it.

The type who wants to be a cop has changed.
Every city has a full time application in HR for police officer.
This tells me that there are not enough good guys to fill
the apps fullfill race quotas for public employees at the same time.
So you just get more half ass incompetent service.
You don’t really get many that have a true desire to protect society.

The Frisco, TX police provided an honor guard for my friends' child who died last week from a long battle with brain cancer; They had already adopted him as an honorary officer and made his last months more bearable.

I thought that was very classy. Score 1 for Frisco, TX.

I got pulled over for speeding in Mesquite, TX. As per my safety training I pulled off to the shoulder rather than the center lane, and the cop said "That is a good way to get yourself shot". I had my toddler in the car at the time.

I think that officer should be fired and charged with making Felony Terroristic Threats and put in prison for the max, which is 5 years.

Minus 1 point for Mesquite, TX.

These people are in for a really rude awakening.

They have yet to see dissension as wide spread distrust of controlling government at all levels continues to escalate.
