I'm not "really working". I just clean my neighbors house. She's got 5 kids (a set of triplets in there), so it's hard work. It takes me all day, cleaning around the babies. They are under my feet. LOL

I am truly sorry to have missed this thread today. I saw it first thing this morning and thought, "Oh....this looks good...gotta read it", but didn't make it back. The Bay of Pigs is something I don't know much about. I know about it, but not all the details.

I'm excited about getting to spend the day with you tomorrow Victoria. Just like old times. :)

Not to mention that Schlessinger was a huge buddy of the Kennedys. Very close family friend, from what I remember.

First a response to the flip leftist intro:

From the end of WWII and up until the mid eighties, most Americans could agree on one thing; communism was the enemy. Communists wanted to destroy us. To change our way of life. To subvert the values of the “free-est” country in the world. Even after Senator Joseph McCarthy went out of fashion, the concept that we were engaged in mortal combat against communism lived on.

Delivered in condescending tone, as though the hypothesis is infantile and erroneous. Not so. Lenin said Capitalists would sell Communists the rope to hang them with. Stalin slew tens of millions and enslaved the Bloc. Kruschev warned, "We will bury you." Communists defined themselves as the enemy.

Kennedy became obsessed with Cuban leader Fidel Castro. . . .One reason for this obsession may be the widely believed concept that all communisms emerged from the same source and had a unified goal: to subvert imperialism [sic]and take over the world. The source, of course, was the Soviet Union. . . .Today we laugh at the idea of a U.S. president entertaining such uninformed and unenlightened ideas, and we shiver at the fact that he would base U.S. foreign policy on them.

More smarmy socialist condesenscion. Note the use of the term "imperialism" to denote the Free World. And no, "we" do NOT laugh at Communism: per The Black Book of Communism it's killed 100 million to date--and Castro has done his share: 100,000.

President Eisenhower was sad to learn that Cuba’s revolution was, indeed, a social revolution and not just the exchange of one crooked regime for another, and relations with the U.S. began to deteriorate.

Where to begin. Well, duh, the "agrarian reformer" turned out to be a Soviet satellite in our hemisphere in violation of the Monroe Doctrine. Not a tough concept.

As for Bissell, his account is so much CYA. Per Hunt, it was Bissell who blocked the urgent request for another pre-invasion raid.

Now enters the pompous blowhard and Clinton-mentor William J. Fulbright to fulmanate on "hypocrisy"--viz. Fulbright's opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for the definitive act of hypocrisy.

Prouty seems ever bitter he'd been out of the loop on the special operations he ostensibly liased for the Defense Department. He reports Bundy told Cabell no more air raids until same could be launched from the beach. Ahem.

The plan was a product of the Eisenhower-Nixon administration under Dulles the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Kennedy was briefed during the campaign and, knowing Nixon could not compromise the op, taunted him in the debates.

How ironic that the Mafia which helped JFK-LBJ steal the election would later help LBJ do JFK.

No, the final raid by B-26s was necessary to take out Castro's remaining three T-33s equipped with multiple .50 cal. The planes were sitting on go with engines turning waiting for JFK's okay.

Cabell did not receive same, and within two and a half years JFK would die in the city where Cabell's brother was mayor.

The plan was for the invasion to take the beach and call for aid from the U.S. as a proxy government. The U.S. would then come to the aid of the proxy government.

But JFK had no juevos.

He could dispatch his brother to join with Peter Lawford and Marilyn Monroe's psychiatrist to forcibly administer (rectally) the lethal dose of barbituate which would remove her threat of blackmail. For RFK had made matters of state topics of his pillow talk with Marilyn.

Hunt's Give Us This Day, 1973, is a first-hand account of the months of training at the camps and the final unbelievable betrayal of the invasion.

The above account gives too much glory to Castro who is a murderer, coming to power shooting his political opponent in cold blood.

Castro would welcome the Soviets to base offensive ballistic missiles as well as a signals intelligence base at Lourdes. The Russians have departed and now the Chinese have two signals intelligence bases, one of which spoofed NY air traffic control into thinking it was U.S. military aircraft last year.

Castro has recently imprisoned 78 dissidents, showing he is a rat bastard, CNN's whitewash and Carter's fellation to the contrary notwithstanding.

JFK's NSAM 263 of October 11, 1963 (withdrawing U.S. advisers) was rescinded by LBJ's NSAM 273 on November 26, 1963 (the first business day after JFK's funeral).

Hunt was, in my view, in Dallas November 22, 1963 as the Short Tramp, with characteristic ear hidden in photos. Hunt had surgery to alter his ears soon after.

Liddy in Will has nothing good to say about Hunt. Thus criticism from the right matches that from the left: Vidal in Art and Arts of Howard Hunt accuses Hunt of serial forgeries from the Diem assassination cables, to Bremer's scrawlings re the Wallace hit, Sirhan's notebook, and the famous LHO note to "Mr. Hunt".

Prouty alleges Powers' U-2 was shorted on fuel to torpedo Ike's 1960 summit with Kruschev. In 1977, Powers told a radio audience that he believed his U-2 had been brought down by a bomb placed on board. Shortly after making this statement, he was killed when his helicopter, used to report news for a Los Angeles television station, ran out of gas and crashed.

Thus Powers (along with DeMohrenschildt, Giancana, Rosselli, Bannister, Ferrie, Hoffa, Morales and so many others) missed Gaeton Fonzi's Last Investigation.

Allusions to "all of that Bay of Pigs stuff" in the Nixon tapes are said to be shorthand for the JFK hit, and the Hunt blackmail thereof.

Author Holzer [Fake Warriors]replied to one query re Kennedy that "he damaged the country, he was a terrible danger to the country."

And so it appeared, having allowed the Soviets to install missiles ninety miles away, then removing U.S. support for the Republic of Vietnam.

Had JFK/LBJ not stolen the 1960 election, Nixon would have assisted rather than obstructed the invasion. And would have been receptive to the Joint Chiefs' request to bomb Hanoi and mine Haiphong.

Those volumes are written--and ALOHA RONNIE is tonight speaking of his unit's incredible battle in the Ia Drang Valley.

Now we are writing new volumes with dramatic plots too daring for fiction:

Saddam and his sons are dead, and Syria will be cracked like a nut.

And a featured role is being played by the special forces and CIA which leftists have so smarmily defamed.

Who knows? Osama got a defective dialysis machine and turned yellow thanks to our covert ops. Last year Fidel had a nasty mosquito bite.

Close enough to get some DNA, Papa.

Evening PhilDragoo.

Amazing how so many of the CIA names that were involved in the Kennedy/Cuba policy turn up later in the Nixon/Watergate mess.

Thanks, you too! I'm blessed with nice parents-in-law! It will be interesting though since FIL and wife are liberals, hopefully we won't discuss much politics while there (he is such a sweetheart though). Mother-in-law and her husband are Republicans :) Happy Easter!
