When we speak harsly of Benedict Arnold, we must remember Col. Rogers of Rogers'Rangers who is the patron saint of sorts to the Rangers. Of course his fame was in the French and Indian Wars, anyone care to guess what he did during the War for Independence? He was the leader of the Queens Own Rangers and fought for the Crown. The Revolutionary War must have been very confusing times for a lot of people. This is especially true in the south where a very large percentage of the population were loyalist.
