I remember when black stations played Prince and others like him in the 80s. Nowadays he couldn't get play on the hip hop/RnB stations, well maybe Betcha By Golly Wow(his remake of the classic) might have gotten play during the Quiet Storm segment.


And no one has to use the symbol anymore, he changed it back to Prince years ago. I think that was his rebellion against Warner or whatever company owned his rights.

That's correct. They played Prince as well as groups like Genesis, Mister Mister, The Police (especially Sting when he went solo), INXS, and even Wham!

I think everything changed in '88 for some reason.

And, yeah, I know he dropped the symbol. Typing the symbol is kinda cool in my book.
