That debit card you like so much has none of the protections mandated by law that credit cards have. IOW, you are at the mercy of your bank as to fraud and they don't have to suspend the charges till AFTER their investigation is done. That could take 30-90 days and you would be out your money for that length of time.

Just something to think about.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

I guess I'll pay down my credit card and retire the debit card.

That's why almost Debit cards can be used as Visa cards, with full protection. If I'm away from home, I can even get emergency funds on my debit card, even if I don't have money in my account. That's just cool.
