It would be great this year to aggressively push for public consumption the real underlying story of Thanksgiving that Rush Limbaugh chronicles every year at this time. Basically, the triumph of capitalism over communism/socialism, as told by William Bradford in his diary from that time. Originally set up as an 'each according to his needs' commie colony, the Pilgrims were floundering until Bradford canned that system in favor of an 'everyone works for themselves' setup. The colonies improved signficantly, there were surpluses, and they gave thanks.

Oh, and by the way; Yeah, right that the settlers needed Indians to show them how to grow corn. As though these people never grew any crops in Europe. Hell, I grew corn in my backyard in Southern California when I was 6 years old. The stuff grows like a weed.

Well, of course they had crops and they had grain but growing season in Massachusetts is very short up there. In southern California, it's probably good fertile soil, lots of sunshine, and a longer growing period for i never been there and . Up there in MA there's short growing season though there's long summers and winters, some fertile soil; some wetlands, swamps, lots of trees, marshes, small hills,...you get the point. It's already cool in the middle of September already and this April there was a huge blizzard. After that it there was a few days of spring then it will all of a sudden turn into summer, it literally changed to summer all of a sudden.

.Plus, probably the pilgrims didn't even know about corn and so that the pilgrims won't mess up on their first harvest, the native Americans showed them how to plant corn. The native Americans also showed them techniques how to plant them, like a farmer after the middle ages showed off the new harness for the horses for they used oxen before hand. These are just what if scenarios. My point I am trying to make is just because you planted corn in Southern California, it's really different to plant corn in Massachusetts.

P.S I live in Boston, MA. I know what's like around there for the most part. About the weather, it's just perfect in October because the leaves just change color so magnificently. Right now it's dead and grave looking. It's going to be a cold Thanksgiving for me.
