Frankly I don't care. I can't stand the Japanese.

A distant great-uncle of mine was a cook on the "USS Maryland" and killed at Pearl Harbor.

We should have dropped FIFTY atom bombs on those b*stards.

How could YOU cozy up to them?

The Japanese detest Blacks, too. They still sell "Darkie" toothpaste in Japan, with a caracture of a Black man that would have even embarrassed Lester Maddox.

'Darkie' toothpaste is not unique to Japan. It is sold in many other Asian countries including Taiwan. IMHO, Japanese are a lot less racist towards blacks than Chinese are.

Very easily. They are usually quite petite and don't take up much space on the bed. ;)

Only the fact that you're young and new here allows me to respond to this. I feel kind of like you're one of my new seamen, just out of bootcamp and in need of a little guidance to set him on the right path.

Frankly I don't care. I can't stand the Japanese.

Think about what you just said here. You can't deny that I'm correct and that you threw out a stupid and easily disprovable assertion about the size of the Japanese fleet, so you say the truth doesn't matter because of what you "feel". That makes you sound just like a leftist. If you want to be a conservative and/or to make your points on this forum, you had better be prepared to deal with facts, not feelings.

How could YOU cozy up to them?

Well, I confess that I do cozy up to one particular Japanese every night when I go to bed (sorry, didn't mean to make your young self blush), but I don't think that's what you meant. The answer to your question (or accusation) is that the Japanese have been our staunchest allies in the Western Pacific for many years, and that it's ignorant to hold the Japan of today guilty for the sins of Japanese in the past. That's another trick of the leftist. Assuming you're white, are you guilty for the fact that previous generations of white Americans held slaves?

Still on the Rock. I'm enjoying my time in Japan, but look forward to living back in the states someday.

I don't think the Japanese have EVER officially apologised to S. Korea or China or any of the Asean states it conquered.

Hey, this is not just a communist state mouthing off against an ally, this is analogous to Jewish folks mouthing off a Germany, IF that Germany had not apologized. Do Note that Germany has, unlike Japan, apologized, over and over again

The war's been over for 60 years. Learning about and from it is one thing, continuing to hold a grudge over it is nationalistic nonsense.

well, the civil war's been over for around 150 years....

No doubt, the history of Japanese aggression against China in the 20th century was barbaric and brutal. However, to argue that a grudge ought to be held against the Japanese of today by the Chinese of today is the equivalent of saying that blacks should still hate whites in the US for slavery.

Wrong example -- a better one would be the suspicion many Poles feel towards Germans. A. Pole, Lukasz, do you agree with me?

Not to mention that Tibet and some Muslim areas of China are getting the exact same treatment Japan dished out 60 years ago.

That's also true -- non-Han portions of China are witnessing a slow genocide.

Very true words -- memories run long in Asia, with many nations remembering events that occured millenia ago (ditto for Eastern Europe with its ancient history)

Japan has NOT apologized for its atrocities during the war. No wonder the places it conquered still resent it. GErmany apologized and still does apologize -- it is forgiven to a large extent by its neighbors because of this.

Hirohito was not the architect of the aggression, it was the generals who controlled the state who were responsible.

I agree -- the Japanese Navy, ooops, SDF, is quite large. Of course, they haven't used it in offense yet

REally? You and I are still Gaijin. And while we will be treated as somewhat lower classes of humans, the blacks are treated as sub-human. Note that this is a generalisation and there are many Japanese who are not in the least bit racist/ But on average....

Careful.

My suggestion is this: Take a deep breath; apologize for the STFU comment; listen and learn.

One thing you will find is that on this board, there are literally thousands of persons from all walks of life who have vast experiences that all can learn from. GATORNAVY will educate us all, just ask nicely and take your irrational hatred and stuff it for a while.
