The internet has helped the postal service with the online sales. You can't exactly digitally ship things purchased on ebay, Amazon, etc. If your scenario was having such a negative impact they would not have set a new record for shipments.

For me the internet has hurt the USPS. I now pay 20-25 bills monthly w/o using one stamp. Regarding on line shopping, most of my shipments come via UPS.

My question is, Since they finished the year in the black and they knew they would, how did they get approval to raise the cost of a stamp 2 cents? Just amazing.

yeah, but its helped Fedex and UPS a whole lot more.
