Nude sunbathing, g-strings banned on Paris beach

There's something about sunshine that causes French birds to shed their feathers.

I observed this phenomenon several times, most notably during a one week period when I was stranded for about a week at the Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan.

After a couple of days, I picked up a postcard with a picture of the Hotel's swimming pool and a barely camouflaged shot of several topless female guests. I sent it to my high school French teacher with a note reminding her that she once told me I would regret every moment that I screwed around in her class. That day, as I sat in a lounge chair in a tropical resort, surrounded by a horde of semi-naked babes, totally unable to attempt to pick any of them up, and recalling my teacher's earlier warning, I was forced to say to myself, "Self ... you know ... she's right."

My teacher prominently displayed the postcard on her classroom bulletin board from the day she received it until the day she retired.

I'm sorry to hear about your trip. I thought you should know why there are nude beaches at all. They are for us middle aged women to go there with our middle aged husbands to ogle the young naked men who go to nude beaches thinking that hot young ladies actually go to nude beaches in NJ. (Oh, and our husbands always think there will be hot babes there, but there never are).

There's a lot of scantily clad eyesores on American beaches, too. There are some sizes that bikinis just should not be made in.

Central NY has it's share of families like that. Always long hair and skirts for the girls and women with walking shoes, usually the most beat up pair I've ever seen. It looks so out of place with a dress. UGH.

I agree, it's a double standard, especially when you see the boys with shaggy hair.

This interdiction has absolutely nothing to do with pressures of the muslims.

You've GOT to be kidding. According to the Mayor's aide, they were "pushed" to enact the ban because scanty attire may "provoke temptation and dangerous behavior along the bank of a river,". That is aimed directly at the Muslims. The very wording of the ban screams Islamofascist.
