At the time, it was only gut instinct to name bin Laden.
I've tried to go back to figure out how I was able to name bin Laden. As best as I can analyze what I was thinking, I had been reading the New York Daily News' coverage of the trials of the bombers of our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania (of the Post, NYT and the Daily News, the DN had the best coverage). One of them was due to be sentenced that week. I had thought it was a jail break because the jail/courthouse was so close to the WTC, but I don't think I posted it--it was just one of those passing silly thoughts. I had also watched "Behind the Veil" (I think that's the title), a CNN documentary about the Taliban's treatment of women in Afghanistan the previous Sunday.
It still sickens me to know I was right.
