People are reacting emotionally. Not thinking with their heads. A West Point friend of mine told me that this is a result of not many people these days having served in the military. I'm forced to agree, although I personally haven't served. I'm amazed at both types of posters here, those insisting on turning Afghanistan into a parking lot, and those, mainly Buchanan supporters and Libertarians, that seem to feel that somehow their personal liberty is the victim here.

It's causing me to question my affiliation with the Libertarian Party. I'll have no truck with people that put their personal freedom above the rights of the general populace to stay alive. This is war. They seem not to understand that. We did not start this war.

What's funny, is that they seem to want changes in our foreign policy as a result of these attacks, which is, in essence, exactly what bin Laden wants. I'll be damned if I let them talk me into that now, as a result of this.

So well said.

How long have we known that security in the airports has been terrible? But very few people cared or complained. Did you look at some of the posts concerning airport security immediately following the attacks? People were blaming the government (I believe airport security was the airlines job) and demanding the government do something about it up to and including letting all passengers carry guns.????

Same thing is going on here. The government better not tap my e-mail but if a biological attack occurs in their vicinity the same people will be screaming that they government should have been able to prevent it, etc. If they're alive.
