What a pity. You've neglected your history books. Any idea how many of the FDR-inspired laws were "just for the duration of the emergency"? How many of them still exsist? Most of us are up-to-date on this stuff. Are you?

Whoa there big fella....

Nobody said anything about accepting violations of our rights and liberties ala FDR. (or at least I didn't)

I recognize that our nation is at war. I recognize our need to weild military force against those who have killed 7000 innocent citizens of our nation. I recognize that our enemy deserves no quarter, and I would readily see them crushed under the overwhelming might of true justice.

But that doesn't mean I accept the Orwellian measures which may be in store for us over the next several years. I still oppose the National ID card. I still oppose socialism. I still oppose the draft (although I'd volunteer in a snap if needed). I still oppose violations of the 4th amendment.

The evil monsters who did this are the people who need to pay.... not the liberties of American citizens.

Don't confuse my support for military action (which is clearly necessary and just in this case) with support for further encroachments of state upon our liberties. They are two distinct questions.

I wasn't addressing you, but thanks for the reply nonetheless.
