It is Thanksgiving Eve ... and I have been away a bit ... only to come back here and be given the chance to meet you!!!
Just another thing for which to be profoundly grateful.
What a time we have shared ... most particularly since September 11th ... but also through the last nine years ...
I do not think I would be so very prepared and armed with knowledge if it were not for Free Republic ~~~~ a better Patriot I am, because of this thread ... Alamo-Girl, JimRob, of course ...
Surely, it is Patriots who are needed now ... but, then, they always have been!
'Tis what preserves and protects this great Nation.

I wish a day for you all tomorrow which is filled with the lasting things ... those things immutable and so very solid they can not be destroyed by any single or combined action.
I wish you all a clear memory of the very best of your past ... that you carry it here to your present ... and hold on to it tight ... these are the things which strengthen us ... these are the things worth fighting for ...
You know what they are ... as simple as a kite flying high on your 6th birthday ... or the day you held your first born ... or lost someone near to you ... or found someone you thought you had lost ...
baseball trading cards and dance cards ~~~ filled or empty ... doesn't matter ... it all came to be a part of who you are today ...
And Free, we are, to celebrate it!!!
