New York Senator Hillary Clinton was roundly booed at former Beatle Paul McCartney's Twin Tower relief concert, held at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden Saturday night.
The embarrassing moment came as Mrs. Clinton introduced a short video clip from stand-up comic Jerry Seinfeld.
Though the former first lady has tried to capitalize on the Twin Tower tragedy, thrusting herself before one TV camera after another in an effort to connect with average New Yorkers and advance her 2004 presidential ambitions, McCartney's concert showed the effort still needed more work.
One eyewitnesses to the scene reported to the web site FreeRepublic.com that Clinton "was booed so loudly, she had to yell into the mike to be heard."
Another estimated that "90 percent" of the crowd jeered the former first lady.
Her husband, the former president, who was also present, got a much warmer reception.

So NewsMax believes FReepers to be valuable, reliable news sources? I think they should ask a few people who attended the conference, at least to confirm this...

trust me... it happened. She really did have to yell to be heard.

I still don't understand why he would get a better reception than she would.

Well, I'll take a stab at it... he didn't pretend to be from there to get elected to the senate. He's also not the arch-enemy of the now beloved Rudy.
To: Hildy
Really! If they don't like her, they should hate him. I don't get it.

From my talking to various people, Bill Clinton is probably getting more outward negative reaction via `guilt by association' with his wife. The big gripes are about her public behavior of late. Foremostly, her eye-rolling and grimacing during Bush's congress speech. Also her performance at a memorial ceremony where Bill relatively behaved.
Her conduct during the address to Congress was sickening. Not only does she see herself as the center of the world, she is childish too.
