I've learned if you are going to Post & Reply you must have thick skin sometimes. I watched and learned for a long time before I jumped in.

Another thing they fuss about is posting things that have already been posted. ...so learn about the 'Search' feature and look for your article before posting a duplicate.

Free Republic is a wonderful resource. The good part is everyone is free to express their opinions. But (LOL!) that's also the bad part! Just realize that most here are very respectful and intelligent, but there are always that 10%. Just don't let them get you down, and you'll quickly become hooked to this site.

Welcome to Free Republic and to the group of brave souls who tried posting for the first time. Some can be pretty raspy at times, others are raspy by nature, and some are RWI (raspy without intent) because they forget what it was like to be a newbie. I am always sad to see a newbie get "flamed" (criticized, attacked, whatever) for doing things that newbies do; it is hurtful needlessly and it drives people from the house. I always try (hopefully successfully) to treat people as I want to be treated, and there are thousands of other FReepers who follow that guide as well.
