Tom Ridge faced his first test as Homeland Security chief--and he failed. The anthrax in the D.C. mail system should have been dealt with quickly and the workers in those facilities ought to have been tested last week like the Senate staffers were. The testing being done now is too late for a few of those workers.

Agree. Terrible blunders were made last week, as Capitol Hill workers were lined up and given preventive doses of Cipro, while the DC postal workers were told "Don't worry--be happy. Just keep on working". I fear there will be more fatalities among the USPS workers in the days and weeks ahead. Why were they not treated equally as well as the aides of Tom Daschle? It is scandalous, and Ridge should resign before he does further damage.
